Tiny Harbor Town: building a village that runs itself

July 19, 2026 · Markus Lindqvist

Tiny Harbor Town doesn't demand optimization, but there's a real pleasure in a village that hums along without constant babysitting. A little planning early on saves a lot of back-and-forth later.

Group your production buildings by what feeds what. Put the fishery near the dock, the smokehouse next to the fishery, and the market within easy reach of both. Villagers walk between buildings, and shorter walks mean faster output. It's a small thing that adds up.

Keep a buffer of housing ahead of your population. Growth stalls the moment villagers have nowhere to live, and it's easy to forget until a request chain grinds to a halt. I build two extra cottages every time I expand.

Mostly, though, this is a game to decorate and enjoy. Once the production loop is tidy, the rest is just making your harbor look the way you want. That's the whole appeal, and it's a lovely way to end a day.
